B.S. 46C Utility Adjustments – Kerlick to Landa

New Braunfels Utilities
New Braunfels, Texas

The project is in a highly traveled urban corridor requiring significant traffic control coordination and public involvement.  The project was being done in advance of a TxDOT widening project for the same corridor requiring detailed coordination with NBU, TxDOT, the City of New Braunfels, and other utility providers.  Urban Civil performed field surveys, prepared plan and profile drawings of the proposed water and sanitary sewer adjustments, prepared SCS application to be processed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), developed new utility easements and quit claim documents for TxDOT, prepared and submitted a sewer reimbursement agreement to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), performed construction administration and staking, and prepared Plan of Record documents.  The project included the installation of approximately 2,340-ft of 24-inch water main, approximately 2,530-ft of 12-inch water main, approximately 5,000-ft. of sewer main ranging from 8” diameter to 12” diameter and two vacuum/air release stations.  This project’s duration was between 2010 and 2015, with a construction cost of $7 million. Urban Civil had the pleasure of working with Mr. Ian, Taylor, P.E. (NBU) (830-608-8970) on this project.
